Background
The General Plan Update (GPU) project “Listening + Visioning” phase of the planning process has the purpose of informing stakeholders of analyses and findings conducted during the exploratory “Existing Conditions” phase. As the GPU Project Team conducts technical analyses, community voices are critical to shaping the direction of the analyses and of the Vision and Guiding Principles that will be determine the alternatives presented for the new General Plan.
A few days before the Community Visioning Workshop on Saturday, February 8, 2020, the GPU Project Team launched its first online survey. From February to July 2020, community members were invited to respond to four open-ended visioning questions on the project website:
What is unique and special about Culver City that you don’t want to lose?
What issues and challenges is Culver City facing today and in the future?
What would you like to see in Culver City in 2045?
How can we increase community collaboration in the planning process and help build ownership of the General Plan?
