Past Engagement

The City is committed to fostering public ownership of the General Plan and its roadmap for Culver City’s future. General Plan Update engagement events have been designed to bring the community together as collaborators in the process, with a goal of broad involvement – especially of those who are too often left out of planning processes.

ENGAGEMENT OBJECTIVES

The engagement effort for the General Plan Update has been systematic, far-reaching, and inclusive, centered on key objectives including:

  • Expanding the number and diversity of people who participate in planning processes;

  • Providing a variety of ways for the community to engage with the process;

  • Testing new approaches for the City to engage with the public;

  • Providing transparency and trust-building through the citywide planning process;

  • Soliciting and integrating feedback on key land use, transportation, economic, health, and other policy issues; and

  • Creating opportunities for the community to take ownership of the plan in preparation for implementation.
